The Norton membership comes with a limited number of licenses to protect your various devices,PC, tablets, Macs, or phones. If you have used up your licenses, you can transfer a license from an unused device to allow installation on another device.
Transfer your Norton license to another device
Follow these steps if you have used all of your licenses.
- Sign in to your account.
- On the Device Security page, identify the device that you no longer want to protect.
- You cannot remove the license associated with a device that has a red or gray (inactive) status. You must fix the issues in that device before you remove the license associated with it. If you cannot fix the issues, you can remove the device from your Norton account.
- If you do not see the device, click View History link at the bottom of the device list to see your older inactive devices. If you still do not see the device, the device may be associated with a different product key or subscription.
- Click the ellipse icon available below the device and in the menu that appears, click Manage License.
- In the Manage Licenses page, select Remove License and then click Next.
- In the Remove License page that appears, click Yes to confirm.
- Once you remove a license from a device, the device is no longer protected and is removed from the Device Security page.
- To install Norton on a new device, click Install Now.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the installation.
Install Norton on another device
Follow these steps if you have licenses left with your subscription and want to install Norton on another device:
- Sign in to your account.
- Click Install on another device.
- Do one of the following:
- To get an email with a download link, type an email address that you can access from your other device. By default, your Norton account email address is filled in.
- To get a text message with a download link, click Text and do the following:
- Select your country from the drop-down list.
- Enter the mobile number on which you want to receive the text message.
- To copy the download link, click Copy.
- To get the app on your mobile, scan the QR code at the right side of the screen.
- Click icon
Install on your current device
Follow these steps if you have licenses left with your subscription and want to install Norton on your current device.
- Sign in to your account.
- In the My Norton page, click/tap Download.
- In the Get Started page, click Agree & Download.
- If you are on a mobile device, choose the subscription that you want to download and tap Next.
- Follow the on-screen instructions
